These US walked in the back door of the Palace fresh from an 8 hour drive from Seattle. They had linked up with Adam Arcuragi for the second leg of their tour, to play a stripped down set for the Whitefish crowd. We had a chance to catch them in Austin at SXSW, and we knew that Whitefish would be into their sound. We had a couple shots of whiskey to loosen up after some technical difficulty with our sound system. This version of These US (there are many) included Tom H., a multi-instrumentalist playing banjo, pedal steel, and guitar. They kicked off the show with a dirty bluesy number that tipped the bottle on an already buzzed crowd. They proceeded to move dynamically through the room touching upon everything from roots to rock. They even got requests from a couple of cougars to rock a little harder, and Jesse responded gracefully.
