Height

Hip Hop. Soul through beats and rhymes. That is exactly what Height, Jones and King Rhythm delivered. It was refreshing to see and hear artists playing with conviction, dishing stories of life and politics for today's generation. The show was a triple bill in the distinguishly funky wood-paneled beer hall of the Moose Club in Whitefish. Low ceilings, tight quarters and fantastic sound made it seem like a souped-up basement party with a kick-ass stereo. King Rhythm was on fire from the moment he stepped to the mic, delivering meaningful lyrics and powerful beats that had people tuning in. Next up was Jones, whose unique style of rapid-fire lyrics over syncopated rhythms and breakbeats is that of a sharp shooter. The culmination of the show was all three artists led by Height, and these guys tore it up. The music became multi-layered as Height led the trio through some original tracks, giving fans a pretty good taste of some much-needed hip hop. Check out tracks and videos from the show >
