Matmos

Matmos first came to SnowGhost during the summer of 2006 to collaborate with Zeena Parkins and Mark Lightcap on a project slated for The Bleeding Edge Festival. They gave us a lesson in creative recording, and we helped them get better-quality sounds. At the end of it, we had "Wobbly Edit", an improvisational piece edited by long-time collaborator Wobbly. Because we were all so happy with the results, we asked them back, this time with virtuoso drum quartet So Percussion.

Kif Chimera Quintet was performed by Drew Daniel, M. C. Schmidt, Zeena Parkins, Mark Lightcap, and Jonathan Leidecker.

We all agreed that the people of San Jose, being in the epicenter of technology, had to meet some high expectations, and so far, they hadn't. The... read more >
